Simon Pettet’s Porcupine

The porcupine made by Simon Pettet that sits on the table in the Dining Room has been recreated in limited batches by expert mould-makers from the former Worcester China factory.

Ceramic porcupines designed as toothpick stands became a popular novelty with the introduction of disposable wooden toothpicks in the early 19th century, when the fashion for figural holders to display toothpicks spread across Continental Europe.

The porcupine is packed in a handmade presentation box. 135mm × 135mm × 135mm
